By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joseph_Kenny]Joseph Kenny Buying a car is no longer a luxury, but a necessity today. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person. An auto loan is the answer to overcome this monetary hurdle. Since a loan would require periodical repayments to be made, an assessment of the monthly family expenses would be helpful in deciding how much ought to be allocated toward car repayments. Though a twenty percent spend from the monthly budget is advised by expert opinion, it must be determined on a personal basis, of course. However, before applying for the car loan, one needs to make sure what one wants and how much it will cost. The search for a suitable make and model should begin keeping in mind the familys size, lifestyle, and what one can afford. This would include the options of a new or used machine. A balanced approach would be best when selecting a model. The sports coupe may look fabulous, but may not suit your budget, or your needs. The more sober sedan may be the right one for you. If you decide in favor of a new machine, being aware of the manufacturers rebates and concessions on offer would be prudent. Magazines, such as Automotive news, Consumer News, New Car Price Service, etc., are a rich and reliable source of such information, which include dealer costs for various makes and models. You could check for other free deals too, such as extended warranties, free accessories, etc. It is a good idea to gather as much information as possible before actually buying your car. Researching on the web, talking to various dealers, collecting and studying brochures and other material would be a good way to begin. In addition, you could put together a folder with all the information youve garnered, to show the dealer whom youre buying from, to let him know exactly what you have in mind. This has the added advantage of telling your dealer that you are aware of other options available, along with the prices. You could also keep him guessing about whether you actually will buy from him, or go to a competitor, to get the best deal from your car dealer. You can get your purchase financed through a bank, credit union or even the dealer, or any other financial institution. The preferable option would be to get a prior approval from a credit union, as their interest rates are generally lower than the bank. Keep in mind that interest rates for new cars are lower than those applicable to used cars, and that the period of repayment for the new ones is also longer. However, the interest rates for a very long repayment schedule of 72 or 84 months will eventually cost much more, which will be advisable to avoid. Once youve taken care of the nitty-gritty involved in choosing the car you always wanted and getting the loan for it, drive home in your dream car, confident that you have got the best deal against your loan. Home Remedies for Yeast Infections
By Linda McCormack Home remedies for yeast infections are becoming increasingly popular and everywhere you go, yeast infection sufferers will have their own unique home remedy which they believe to be the very best. For many years now, over the counter drugs have been available to treat yeast infections, but more people are beginning to realise that taking medication time after time may not be the answer and could, in fact, make things much worse in the long run. Home remedies for yeast infections really come into their own when people who get recurrent bouts find a remedy that suits them and implement it at the first sign of an attack. Furthermore, many home remedies for yeast infections take a more holistic approach that is they treat the problem as a whole rather than just masking the symptoms. This means that the likelihood of having numerous attacks is greatly reduced as the root cause is dealt with instead of being covered up. This overall approach, when combined with a home remedy for yeast infections which will target the presenting symptoms achieves a two pronged result: the sufferer gets immediate relief without using drugs or having to spend money on prescription medication and the longer term affect ensures that the problem does not keep occurring in the future. Whilst a plan like this can take a degree of commitment from the sufferer, most people who use home remedies for yeast infections report a lessening of the immediate symptoms and a feeling of overall wellbeing, which in no small part comes from the feeling of being in control of the yeast infection at last. Home remedies for yeast infections have been around for centuries. The yeast that is responsible for the infection cannot be cured by antibiotics but nature, in her wisdom, has provided us with a wealth of natural substances which provide an excellent source of quick and effective relief from the symptoms of yeast infections. A good home remedy for yeast infections will provide you with information on why it works. The plan should explain the properties of the treatment, whether they are anti-fungal or healing, explain which natural supplement is best and why and show you ways to alter your lifestyle and habits so as to maximise the effects of the home remedy. When choosing home remedies for yeast infections you should look for someone who has done their research and can prove it. Ideally, it should be someone with first hand experience of a yeast infection problem, someone who has used home remedies for yeast infections themselves and been successful both in treating the initial outbreak and in keeping the problem at bay. Home remedies for yeast infections definitely work; its simply a question of finding the right one at the right price that works for you. Injury At Work? Workplace Injury Lawyer Will Help!
By Anna Henningsgaard Since the days of Upton Sinclaires The Jungle, workplace injury law has improved to protect workers and repay them for injuries incurred at work. Departments like the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have been developed to monitor working conditions and maintain a benchmark level of safety for workers. Not only is your employer responsible for providing a safe workplace, they must support you when you suffer injuries on the job site. OSHA penalizes companies for dangerous working conditions. These are some very strict regulations, and it is a good idea to contact a lawyer if you mean to hold your company responsible for injuries youve suffered. Since its inception in 1971, OSHA has helped to cut workplace fatalities by more than 60 percent and occupational injury and illness rates by 40 percent. In the past, workers had to fend for themselves. People working in dangerous industries were not paid when they had to take time off for injuries, even when the injuries happened at work! These employees who took on extra risk by working difficult and dangerous jobs were not necessarily paid more, so it was often the marginalized members of society such as recent immigrants who were forced to risk their lives daily just to get by. Modern standards, such as those established by OSHA, seek to make this abuse a thing of the past. Workplace injury and abuses still occur, however, especially if you dont know your rights. If you have been injured at work because your employer has not provided appropriate safety measures or you have suffered a workplace injury and were subsequently laid off or not paid for your recovery time, contact a lawyer right away. Worry - DO Leave Home Without It
By William Walker Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The other day the Lord brought to my mind an old hymn. And when I pulled out a hymnal from the piano bench and read the words, He began to take me on another journey. Heres the hymn: What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms hell take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there. (Words by Joseph M Scriven, ca. 1855, Music by Charles C. Converse, 1868) Why do I struggle, Lord? Why do I worry over a million and one things, try to take care of them myself, fail so miserably, and only then cry out to You for help? Paul instructed the Christians in Philippi (and us), "Dont worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience Gods peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) Jesus himself tells us: "Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT) And why does the Lord do this for us? Jesus gives us the answer when He says: "Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So dont be afraid; you are more valuable to him than a whole flock of sparrows." Matthew 10:29-31 (NLT) He says also: "So I tell you, dont worry about everyday lifewhether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. For life consists of far more than food and clothing. Look at the ravens. They dont need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not! And if worry cant do little things like that, whats the use of worrying over bigger things! Look at the lilies and how they grow. They dont work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, wont he more surely care for you? You have so little faith! And dont worry about foodwhat to eat and drink. Dont worry whether God will provide it for you. These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs. He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. So dont be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom." Luke 12:22-32 (NLT) So let me get this straight. God does this for me because He loves and cares for me? And it gives Him "great happiness" to do so? If this is true, then why do I worry? Could it be that I dont really acceptdeep insidethat God loves me that much? Then how do I come to a place where I knowreally experience--that love? By becoming a child again. In Matthew we read: "And He called a little child to Himself and put him in the midst of them, And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all]. Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:2-4 (Amplified Bible) With childlike faith, I approach my heavenly Father through my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord of my life and--as a child--I ask Him. "Abba, Father, do You really love me that much? Would you just love on me right now?" And then wait on Him. If speaking to Almighty God in this way seems sacrilegious or silly, remember these words from the book of Romans: "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. O you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received Gods Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, Abba, Father. For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are Gods children." Romans 8:14-16 (NLT) No matter our chronological age, we are His children. And then, as He demonstrates His love for me I do as instructed in the Book of 1st Peter: "Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully." 1 Peter 5:6-8 (Amplified Bible) I humble myself before Him, offer Him my love and praise, and tell Him all about all my anxieties, all my worries, all my concerns and--once and for all--hand them over to Him. I admit my total inability to handle any part of my life on my own. I give Him the weight, the anxiety, and the worry about all the "jobs" I have to do in this life. I neither ignore nor deny my responsibilities as an adult, a husband, a wife, a father, or a mother but I put my trust in God to be my provider and to handle the "weight" for me. And I must give the weight to HimHe will not take it involuntarily. Nor can I give Him only part of my concerns. I must decide to subject myself to His leadership of all aspects of my life. What a wonderful promise we are given in return! He says that, if I will give up these worries and anxieties, He will take responsibility for working in my life to supply all that I need. "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." Matthew 6:33 (NLT) As the song says, "What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!" To not do so is to forfeit peace; to bear needless pain. All because I do not carry everything to God in prayer. Heavenly Father, forgive me for my pride and arrogance, for not humbling myself before You, and for not realizing the full extent of Your love for me. I cast my cares on Your mighty shoulders. I give up trying to do it all myself. I seek You alone and give the weight of my cares and burdens to You. And I accept Your will for my life." I pray this in the name of my Savior, Lord, Mediator, Intercessor, and Brother, Jesus Christ. Amen. Redeemed From The Curse! Pt. 1
By Mark E. Baker Galatians 3:13. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree''),
14. that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. If you asked most Christians if Jesus redeemed them, they would say yes. If you asked them what they were redeemed from, they would most likely say they were redeemed from sin.
The Word of God tells us Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. I would like to ask the question, did you know the law has a curse, and that you have been redeemed from it, and do you know what that curse is? We need to know what the Word of God is telling us, about the curse Jesus redeemed us from. The least we can do is find out what the curse of the law is. The law can refer to the ten commandments, or sometimes refers to the entire Old Testament, or in many cases the first five books of the Bible, this is called the Pentateuch. If you go back to the Pentateuch, you will find the curse of the law very clearly defined in the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy starting in verse 15 and going to the end of the chapter to verse 68. I would encourage you to get your Bible out and read it for yourself. You will see that the curse of the law has multiple parts. The curse of poverty, starting with verses 15-20, 30-33, 38-40, and 51.
As you read this, you can clearly see that poverty is definitely a part of the curse of the law,
also sickness, in verses 20-22, 27-29, 35, 59-61. There are other curses throughout the Old Testament, always as a result of disobedience to God. Spiritual death is the first curse to come upon man, as mentioned in the 2nd chapter of Genesis, where God told Adam not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.'' Adam did not die physically that day, but he did die spiritually that day. Spiritual death is not ceasing to exist, but to be separated from the life of God. Adams spirit was separated from the life of God, as a result of his sin. His body was made to last forever, but because he no longer had the life of God indwelling his spirit, his body eventually died, even at that, it took over 900 years for him to die physically. I would like to take a look at the 103rd psalm, even though this is Old Testament, it shows Gods desire for mankind. He loves us and wants us to come to Him as our redeemer. Psalms 103:1. Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2. Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:
3. Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,
4. Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5. Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6. The Lord executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed. Verse 2 says to forget not all His benefits, another way of saying this is, do not forget any of His benefits. We as the body of Christ have forgotten some of His benefits, yet His Word tells us very clearly here, Do not forget! They go on to list these benefits, 1.Who forgives all your iniquities, 2. Who heals all your diseases, 3.Who redeems your life from destruction. 4.Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5. Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. This psalm is not talking about the law or its consequences, yet I wanted to look at it because it is talking about Gods love toward us and His desire to see us free from all bondage's, to see our total redemption. God brought these blessing upon Abraham through his faith as we see in Gal.3:14. that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. This happened 430 years before the mosaic law was given. God established a Covenant with Abraham in order to get His seed into the earth and redeem mankind once and for all. A Covenant is a binding agreement between two agreeing parties. A blood covenant throughout history was considered the strongest kind of covenant that could be made. Abraham shed his blood in the act of circumcision, and God bound Himself with His Word. Jesus fulfilled the Abrahamic covenant with His blood. The 13th verse says, for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'' Jesus became the blood act committed by Gods high priest to totally fulfill the Abrahamic covenant and establish His blessings upon the earth. Jesus was that seed. Vs.16. Says, Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds,'' as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed,'' who is Christ.
vs. 17 through 19 go on to say, 17. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. In other words, God had to establish the law and the priesthood because of sin, and sin is what separated us from God in the first place. So God established the law and the priesthood, so that man would be able to receive the blessing of God. As vs.19.says, What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Continuing with vs. 20. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
God would not have had to initiate the law except for mans transgression, in order to show man that he was a sinner. If it wasnt for the law man would not have been accountable to God for there was no commandment to be broken. As verse 24. says, the law was a tutor to show us the way to Christ, that by faith we might be justified. This first covenant was not the end result but a way for God to establish an everlasting Covenant through Jesus Christ, an eternal covenant that could not be broken. In order for us to be partakers of this covenant we have to receive the promise by faith, as vs. 24 says, that we might be justified by faith. Our justification before God comes through Jesus Christ through faith. This blood Covenant was made through Abrahams seed, the Lord Jesus Christ, and can not be broken by man, but we can be partakers of the inheritance by faith. Glory to God , this is the good news of the Gospel. Lets go on to read in vs. 25. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29.And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. In other words, the fulfillment of Gods covenant has come, our redemption has come. We have been redeemed from the curse of the law, Christ Jesus has became that curse for us, for one purpose, to fulfill Gods Covenant with Abraham and redeem mankind, so that the blessings of Abraham might come upon the gentiles by faith. The truth of the matter is, the body of Christ as a whole has forgotten His benefits, even after His admonishment not to forget. I know this must truly grieve the heart of the Father. Let us be partakers of these blessings that God has gone to such great lengths to bless us with. If you dont know the Lord Jesus Christ and would like to know for sure that you are a Christian, and when you die you will live eternally with Christ, you can know that these blessing were purchased for us. All you have to do to start this wonderful journey is pray this prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your word says, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. (Jn.6:37), So I know You wont cast me out, but You take me in, And I thank you for it. You said in your Word, "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'' (Ro. 10:13). I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now, You also said, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. (Ro.10:9,10). I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. And I confess Him now as my Lord, Because Your Word says, with the heart one believes to righteousness and I do believe with my heart, I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21), And I am saved! Thank You, Lord!
I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God! Glory to God!!!! Amen I was raised Catholic, and was born again at the age of 17. I received God's call into ministry at the age of 19 and began to prepare for ministry. I graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1979. The Lord has called me to teach. My desire is to help all that are seeking to come into a deeper understanding of what God has done for us through Christ Jesus and I have started a web site for this purpose called The Olive Branch; Please visit us for more free studies and resources to help you on your journey.

14. that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

3 No-Fail Strategies for Promoting Your Business
By Dave Wells In a funk because other sales people seem to be winning all the new business opportunities? Its time to start claiming your share of the market. By implementing 3 key promotional strategies youll be able to enhance your credibility, get established as the preferred business of choice, and get super exposure even if you dont win the business this time. Here are 3 tips that will boost your business development promotional efforts and help you to get noticed. Extra-Value Proposition. In developing your marketing message, it's very helpful to develop a Unique Selling Proposition, or and Extra-Value Proposition. What is a USP? The USP very clearly answers the question, "Why should I do business with you instead of your competitors?"
There are two major benefits in developing the USP. First, it clearly differentiates your business in the eyes of your current and potential customers or clients. Second, it focuses your team on delivering the promise of the USP, helping to improve your internal performance. There are several questions to ask about your business to determine a USP: 1. What is unique about your business or brand vs. direct competitors? You'll probably find a whole list of things that set you apart; the next questions will help you decide which of these to focus on. 2. Which of these factors are most important to the buyers and end users of your business or brand? 3. Which of these factors are not easily imitated by competitors? 4. Which of these factors can be easily communicated and understood by buyers or end users? 5. Can you construct a memorable message (USP) of these unique, meaningful qualities about your business or brand? 6. Finally, how will you communicate this message (USP) to buyers and end users? Marketing tools to communicate USPs include media advertising, promotion programs (e.g., direct mail), packaging, and sales personnel. Risk Reversal. In every business transaction there's a risk involved. 99% of the time it's the person or business who buys your service who takes on this risk. This risk is what prevents many people from buying. Therefore, if you lower or eliminate the risk, your sales will multiply in direct proportion to the amount of risk you are willing to share with your prospect. Implement extended guarantees, free trial periods, and special introductory packages. The offer should be something so outstanding that you become the logical choice. The concept is simple. As long as you provide a good service to your clients then Risk Reversal will draw prospects to you like a magnet! Testimonials. The most effective advertising strategy ever is to put testimonials all over your marketing. The good comments customers give you are worth their weight in gold. All of us see so much advertising that we tend not to believe much of it. If you say your services are great, not many people are going to be impressed about it. However, if your customer touts how they were helped by your services, well that is more powerful than anything else. Make sure you go out and ask everyone of your past and present clients to give you testimonials. Explain that they are the key to helping you break the sales resistance barriers and that you would really appreciate their help. Very few people will turn you down when you ask if you can put their words on your marketing materials. Most are flattered. You can sweeten the offer by including their name, city, and web site address along with the testimonial. Not only does this help promote your customer, but people are more likely to believe a testimonial is genuine if it carries the name and location of the person who said it. These 3 promotional elements are the foundation for an extremely effective business development and marketing campaign. Use them to define your sales solution, reduce or eliminate the prospects fear of the unknown, and establish you as the logical solution to their business problems. A Full Scale War
By Allen Martin It happens every morning when you mosey out of bed, somewhere between the time you take off that robe and the instant you step into the shower. For others, it happens immediately after a workout, as soon as you peel off those sweaty clothes and stand aimlessly in your birthday suit. Then, the big moment arrives. The excitement, the tension, it all forms a giant knot in your throat. This experience is a lot like playing the roulette wheel and you know you have plenty riding on this one. Hence, the numbers that come up can spree a variety of reactions. You step onto the scale in your bathroom and peek through your fingers at the fate staring back at you. To some, you jump up and down like you just hit the jackpot. Others shriek as if theyd just crapped out. Well, the scale is indeed a useful tool to monitor your weight-loss developments. What other method is there to track specifically how much youve progressed in your endeavors to lose weight? Yet, the scale can be like a lousy personal trainer. It can be giving you bad information. In other words, do not become too dependent on this devilish, little device sitting on your bathroom floor. Here are two reasons why: * Scales are not perfect. At any given moment, it can go from being your best friend to your worst enemy. If the scale isnt tipping your way, it can throw your entire mental state off the mark. Scales can often deceive you into thinking youre heavier or lighter than you actually are. In more case, its the latter. And by thinking that youre that far ahead of the game, the only one youll be fooling is yourself. Instead, try going by how your clothes fit on your body or how you feel internally than relying on some imperfect machine. Take a picture of yourself at the beginning of the month and then at the end of the month to evaluate the progress. Obsession with the scale is not unlike other fixations its certainly not healthy. * Scales tend to dictate. Too many people are consumed with the numbers on the scale. Its not unlike the scenario of a baseball player who is completely engrossed in his batters average. The average is just a number. He should be more concerned with winning the game. The same goes with the battle against weight loss. The goal should never be a number. If you become too concerned with reaching a specific number, by a certain time, it can lead to starvation, bulimia, malnutrition, many conditions that are not beneficial to your body or youre health. * Remember, the best scale you can have is your mind. If its telling you that the unwanted fat is disappearing from your figure like a dress on prom night, chances are that youre right. Who am I to Judge
By C. Dakota I was watching a news program not to long ago and a guest was talking about God's wrath being poured down on the United States because of the moral decay in society. The guest took a very high moral ground not admitting any faults with in themselves, their congregation, or the church in general. Is God punishing the world? He may be, but who am I to judge the hearts of man. When hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast I don't think any one thought that God was punishing the people that lived there. On the contrary people all around the world poured out compassion for the victims. As Al-Qa'ida hi-jacked planes and flew them into the World Trade Center buildings in New York (we refer to as 9/11), I don't think Christians around the world were judging the victims of 9/11. Yes, our country's morals have decayed in society. It seems that every one points fingers at this group and that group with the perception that everyone else is to blame. But where does the blame lie? Many blame Hollywood, but if no one supported Hollywood then Hollywood would change. Some might blame the government, but who elects the government representatives? Others might blame the Church, but who is the church? I believe the answer lies in the heart of the individual. Every person has moral choices to make and their choices effects the lives of others around them. As individuals we can choose to support or not support Hollywood, elect government representatives that have moral convictions, be apart of a church that teaches the Gospel and the love of Christ, and we should examine our own hearts and lives. I have not found the passage in the bible that says that once I have accepted Jesus Christ that I become the judge of mans heart. It is not there, but it does say to share the 'Good News' and love your neighbor as yourself. Changing society needs to start in the heart and lives of the individual. Death and destruction happens every day and as Christians we can take comfort that God's plan is at work in this world. We may not be able to understand or comprehend His ways but His plan is the perfect plan. C. Dakota is associated with NarrowisthePath.com. C. Is Lingzhi the King of Herbs?
By Salmah Mohamed Ganoderma Lucidum, known in China as Lingzhi or Reishi in Japan and Yeongji in Korean is a type of mushroom that until recently, was a rare herb and only available to those rich and powerful. In nature, it lives mainly on dried trunks or stumps of trees such as maple, plum, guercus serrata or pasonia trees. Even then, only 2 or 3 out of 10,000 of such aged tree will have Lingzhi growing, therefore it is very scarce. The oldest Chinese Medical text known today is the "Shen Nong's Herbal Classic", which is known in Japan
as " Shinnoh Honsohkyo". This herbal medicine book classifies 365 species into three categories: * Superior: Herbs which are effective for multiple diseases and mostly responsible for maintaining and restoring the body balance. They have almost no unfavorable side effects, thus also called God's Herbs. * Average: These are herbs mainly used as tonics and boosters, but their consumption must not be prolonged. * Fair: Herbs in this category are taken as a remedy for certain ailments only and taken in small doses. Treatments using herbs in fair and average category have be monitored carefully and should not be taken continuously. In the superior category, these herbs can be taken in any doses and continuously without unfavorable side effects. Amongst the Superior Herbs, Lingzhi is ranked number one, and was therefore the most exalted medicine in ancient times, thus it is also called" the King of Herbs". For centuries Lingzhi / Reishi is known to be a medicine that will grant you eternal youth and longevity. Due to its medicinal properties and its rarity, many studies were carried out to cultivate Lingzhi / Reishi. With the success in cultivating Lingzhi, Lingzhi is now more readily available to us to use to maintain our health or treat illnesses. Scientists can now make more research to understand it's medicinal properties. One of the success is that Lingzhi is found to be effective in fighting against cancer, though many modern medicine professionals still discounted it, preferring the use of drugs and chemotherapy which have been shown to have many bad side effects. Ganoderma Lucidum ( Lingzhi / Reishi ) are now used in many forms and are produced in several ways to extract the best medicinal properties. In it's pure powder form, it is still quite expensive, about 30 cents per capsule and is usually taken 2 to 4 capsules per day for health maintenance. The less expensive method is consuming coffee, tea and other beverages which contains Ganoderma or Lingzhiin it. Some of these are now popularly known as Healthy Coffee, Lingzhi Coffee or Gano Coffee. Thousands now have reaped the benefit of drinking such coffee, feeling less tired, more energetic with much less caffeine than the normal coffee that they had before. Treatment using Ganoderma Lucidum is also called by some as Ganotherapy. There have been numerous testimonials and studies showing the excellent medicinal properties of Lingzhi, which is also known as Ganoderma Lucidum, Reishi or Yeongji which confirms that it is indeed The King of Herbs. Support For Your Depression
By Justin Meyer Sometimes you are falling down and need to find people to talk to. What is important though, is not to find people who will enable, but instead to find people who will actually be able to help pick you up. So you need to figure out who you have around you who can do that. There are a few good options here. The first, obviously, is a good friend. Someone who you know will be able to listen and give you an opinion that you trust. The best person for this would not be a significant other, because friendships are longer lasting on the whole. This friend need not be someone local, and depending on your preference local might not be better. Because it is someone that you don't see as often, the temptation to run might not be as high. My first choice for someone to talk with is someone who lives 3000 miles away. It allows me to tell her what is going on without feeling like I need to run to her. When things are really bad, I go to my girlfriend who is a more constant presence in my life right now, and I can get immediate support like a hug. She is very understanding that I need to go call a friend a little later on. The most important thing is to make sure that you have people who you can tell anything to. Without this, you will never find comfort when you are having problems. Lobster Tails
By Steve Valentino Lobster tails are considered the favorite portion of the lobster for eating. The majority of lobster meat is in the tail and can be eaten plain, with butter or lemon juice. Lobster tails are available mostly as frozen, but you can get fresh ones also. They are available in small, medium or large sizes, ranging from 3 to 24 ounces. They are very popular with savvy cooks and are much easier to obtain than fresh lobsters since they can be stocked easily. Once thawed, they can be grilled or boiled. The meat from the tails can be used in recipes requiring cooked lobster meat. The tail of a female lobster is more popular since it is broader than the male lobster's as she uses the tail to carry her eggs. Tails of cold water lobsters are known to be healthier and do not get spoilt as easily as tails of warm water lobsters. Warm water lobster tails come from Florida, Caribbean, Latin America, Cuba and Nicaragua and have distinct yellow spots and a yellow band, while cold-water lobster tails generally come from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Cold-water tails are also costlier than warm water lobster tails and have whiter meat and are considered tender. Maine lobster tails turn out to be very expensive since these lobsters outgrow their tails when they are around 1 pound in weight. So the bigger the Maine lobster, the less meat it has in its tails. While cooking lobsters, its tail may flap for several seconds leading to splashing of boiling water. Lobster tails can also be barbecued, grilled, baked, broiled or steamed. There are a number of delicious recipes available to cook lobster tails in different ways. It is much easier to procure and cook the tails, instead of the lobster. While cooking if the tail stays mushy, doesn't firm up, falls apart easily or has an ammonia odor, then consider it spoilt and discard it. While eating, you must learn to properly open the tail without injuring your hands with its shells. It is recommended to cut open the tail first by squeezing its sides inward, grabbing the edges of the shell, placing the thumbs on the dorsal side and pulling the sides apart. To enjoy good healthy lobster tails, buy them from a reputed vendor and check the appearance of tails. The best time of year to buy lobsters tails is considered during winter, when the prices tend to be lower, otherwise you can get them for around $50. They can be bought from seafood outlet, fishery retail shops or from the Internet. Lobster provides detailed information on Lobster, Lobster Tails, Lobster Recipes, Maine Lobster and more. When Did the Gift of Tongues Cease?
By Dennis Kiszonas No one was more "charismatic" than the Apostle Paul. He wrote to the Corinthian church that "they came behind no other church" when it came to the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 1:7)no church had more of the gifts of the Holy Spirit than the Corinthian church, yet Paul says that he spoke in tongues more than all of them (1 Cor. 14:18)! No one was more charismatic than Paul, yet the Lord revealed to him that those sign gifts were going to cease: "whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away" (1 Cor. 13:8).1 Here Paul writes of the gift of tongues, the gift of prophecy and the gift of knowledge (see 1 Cor. 13:1-2) and states that the Lord Jesus had revealed to him (1 Cor. 11:23; 15:3; Gal. 1:11,12) that a time was coming when these sign gifts were going to cease to operate. The question has always been: when? When would these gifts cease? This study focuses on that questionwhen did the sign gifts cease? Arranging Paul's letters in the order that he wrote them We begin by setting up a time line of Paul's ministry. Paul was saved in Acts 9 when the Lord appeared to him on the road to Damascus. Paul would go on to write 13 letters in the New Testamentfrom the Letter to the Romans to the Letter to Philemon. When we remember that Paul is the subject of at least half of the Book of Acts, we realize that half of the 27 books in the New Testament are either about him (The Book of Acts) or were written by him (13 letters). Paul's letters are arranged in our Bible by two principles: The letters to the churches are put firstnine letters from Romans to 2 Thessalonians, then the four letters written to individualsfrom 1 Timothy to Philemon. The letters are also arranged by lengthRomans is longest and is first, then the Corinthian letters, then Galatians, etc. Longer letters are first, shorter ones later. But to understand when the sign gifts ceased, we need to read Paul's letters in the order that he wrote them. When we arrange the letters in the order that they were written, all becomes clear! Paul's Letters in the order that he wrote them: The first 6 of Paul's letters can be fit into the Book of Actswe can read Acts and then read Paul's letters and we can see where Paul was when he wrote these letters. The Letter to the Galatians is first In Acts 13,14 Paul and Barnabas went on their first apostolic journey which took them into Galatiacities like Antioch, Lystra, Derbe, etc. Soon after Paul returned from this journey he wrote the letter to the Galatians (see Galatians 1:6 where Paul writes to the Galatians and says, you are "so quickly turned."). Galatians was written soon after Paul returned from that first journeysoon after Acts 14:27. That makes Galatians the earliest of Paul's letters. 1 and 2 Thessalonians The next letters Paul wrote are the two letters to the Thessalonians. In Acts 17, Paul, on his second apostolic journey, came to Thessalonica and preached there. Many were saved, but Paul was driven out of town. Paul continued on to Corinth where he wrote the two letters to the Thessalonians. Timothy's return from Macedonia mentioned in Acts 18:5 is also reported in 1 Thessalonians 3:6. And in 2 Thessalonians 2:5 Paul reminds the Thessalonians of his teaching, as if it had not been very long since he had been with them. So the writing of 1 and 2 Thessalonians can be placed into Acts 18 during Paul's ministry in Corinth, and that makes them the second and third letters that Paul wrote. 1 and 2 Corinthians The next two letters that Paul wrote are the two letters to the Corinthians. In Acts 18 Paul spent a year and a half ministering in Corinthsee Acts 18:11. He later returned to his home base at Antioch (Acts 18:22), and later in his third apostolic journey he arrived in Ephesus (his ministry in Ephesus extends all the way through Acts 19a period of more than two years, see verse 10). It is here in Ephesus during Acts 19 that Paul wrote 1 Corinthianssee I Corinthians 16:19. Shortly after that Paul traveled to Macedonia (see Acts 20:1 and 2 Cor. 2:13) and that is where he wrote the second letter to the Corinthians. Romans In Acts 20:2,3 Paul arrived in "Greece," i.e. in Corinth again, and spent three months there enjoying the hospitality of a believer named Gaius (mentioned in 1 Cor. 1:14). In Gaius's home, in Corinth, Paul wrote the letter to the Romans (see Rom. 16:23). This is the last letter written during the Book of Acts. In Acts 21:33 Paul was arrested in Jerusalem, and would spend the next 5 years in prison, right through the end of the Book of Acts. In Acts 21 Paul was arrested and remained a prisoner through to Acts 28, and beyond. The Prison EpistlesEphesians, Colossians, Philemon, and Philippians Shortly after the end of the Book of Acts, while he was still a prisoner, now in Rome, Paul wrote four lettersthe "prison epistles": Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon and Philippians. In each of these letters he writes of his "chains"see Ephesians 6:20, Colossians 4:18, Philemon 13 and Philippians 1:13. The Pastoral EpistlesThe letters to Titus, First and Second Timothy Paul was released from this imprisonment and continued his ministry for a few years, perhaps 3 years. During this time he wrote the three letters known as the "Pastoral Epistles," because these letters were written to Paul's co-workersPastor Timothy and Titus. Finally at the end of his life he is again in prison. This time he anticipates being beheaded for the Lord and writes the last letter, Second Timothy. Now let's read the letters in the order Paul wrote them Having surveyed the 13 letters and having put them into their chronological order, let's see what they tell us about the question: when did the sign gifts cease? In the first six letters, all written during the period covered by the Book of Acts, we find that the sign gifts were operating in all these churches. All through the Book of Acts we read of tongues, the gift of prophecy, the gift of healing, etc.for example, tongues and prophecy in Acts 19:6, the gift of prophecy in Acts 21:10-14, the gift of healing in Acts 19:11-12 and 28:8,9, etc. And in the "Acts Epistles" we read of the gifts operating in the churches that Paul founded. In Galatians 3:5, 1 Thessalonians 5:20, 1 Corinthians 12,13,14, 2 Corinthians 12:12, Romans 12:6in all these letters we read about the gifts in operation right through to the end of the Book of Acts. But, during this time in the Book of Acts, the Lord revealed to Paul that the sign gifts were going to cease1 Corinthians 13:8-12. The gifts were all in operation all through the Book of Acts period and are mentioned in the letters written during that time, but the Lord had revealed that the sign gifts were going to cease at some time in the future. When the gift of tongues ceased Now we turn to the prison epistles, the four letters written shortly after the end of the Book of Acts, while Paul was a prisoner in RomeEphesians, Colossians, Philemon and Philippians...and we find that there is not one word about tongues, or the gift of healing. Even where we might have expected Paul to write of tongues in the passage about being "filled with the Spirit" in Ephesians 5:17, he has nothing to say about tongues. And as for the gift of healing, we read of a co-worker of Paul's, Epaphroditus, who fell seriously ill during this time (Phil. 2:25-30) and Paul no longer had the gift of healing, and was no longer able to heal as he did only a few years earlier in Acts 28:9. The sign gifts were no longer operating at the time that Paul wrote the Prison Epistles. Tongues in the Pastoral Epistles? In the 3 Pastoral Epistles, as in the prison epistles, we do not read of tongues or the gift of healing operating at this time. We do read of prophecies that had been made about Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:18 and 4:14 and 2 Timothy 1:6, but these were given years before. So far as we read in these three letters, we wouldn't even know that there had been a "gift of tongues." And, again, in places where we would have expected Paul to mention the sign gifts, he is silent. When Paul gives Timothy and Titus instructions regarding the choice of men to be elders in the churches, Paul says nothing about the desirability of these men having a gift such as prophecy, or healing, or other sign gifts (see Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Tim. 3:1-10). The gifts of tongues, prophecy, etc. were no longer in operation by the time Paul wrote the pastoral epistles. It is clear that the gift of healing has ceased because, as in Philippians, Paul was no longer able to heal, even his co-workers. Timothy was suffering stomach problems and frequent infirmities (1 Tim. 5:23) and Paul can't heal him, doesn't recommend that he go to a healer in the church, doesn't send a prayer cloth or a bottle of anointing oil (remember the miracles of some 8 years earlier in Acts 19:11-12). Likewise in 2 Timothy 4:20, Paul has to leave behind his co-worker Trophimus who had fallen sick on the last journey. Paul's gift of healing (Acts 28:9) was no longer operating in Philippians 2:27, 1 Timothy 5:23 and 2 Timothy 4:20. Summary The sign gifts, tongues, prophecy, the gift of healing, etc. were operating all through the Book of Acts, and these gifts are mentioned in the letters that Paul wrote during the Acts period. But when we turn to the letters written after the Book of Actsthe 4 Prison Epistles, and the 3 Pastoral Epistles, we find that the sign gifts either aren't mentioned at all or we seeas with the gift of healingthat they were no longer operating in Paul's life. What he could do in Acts 28, he could no longer do in Philippians, or in 1 and 2 Timothy. He could heal all the sick on the island in Acts 28:9, but he couldn't heal any of his closest co-workersTimothy, Epaphroditus, Trophimusafter the close of the Book of Acts. Arranging Paul's letters in the order that he wrote them allows us to see the pattern of truth that is found in the Word of God: The sign gifts were operating in Acts and in all of the Acts Epistles: Galatians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Corinthians and Romans. But in this time period, in 1 Corinthians 13:8-12, Paul tells us that the Lord had revealed to him that these gifts would cease some day. And they did, because in the letters written after the Book of Acts, the sign gifts had ceased, just as the Lord said that they would. The pattern could not be clearer, and the contrast could not be sharper between the earlier letters and the later letters, between the time when all the sign gifts were operating, and the time when all the sign gifts had ceased. We can now give a scriptural answer to the question that we started with: when did the sign gifts cease? The answer: The sign gifts ceased at the end of the Book of Acts. There is no record in Scripture of any of the sign gifts operating in any of the letters that Paul wrote after the end of the Acts period, and it is clear that the gift of healing had ceased since Paul could no longer heal even his closest co-workers after the close of the Book of Acts. Why did the sign gifts cease? Having seen the pattern of truth regarding the gifts, we need to ask, why did the gifts cease at this time? Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 "Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known."
The gift of tongues, prophecy and knowledge during the Acts period were only "in part"they were incomplete, they did not communicate the full knowledge that the Lord had to reveal. But the Lord revealed to Paul that "that which is perfect" was coming. In English, as in Greek, this is a neuter pronoun"that thing which is perfect." Paul was not writing about the coming of "He who is perfect" but of the coming of a "thing" which is perfect. When it came, then the gifts which were only "in part" would cease. It would be like the difference between being a child and becoming a grown man, or between seeing someone's face reflected in a wavy ancient mirror, and seeing the person face-to-face. Before the end of the Book of Acts, during the Acts period, and in the letters written during the Acts period, the Lord had only revealed part of the "dispensation of grace" (Eph. 3:2) to the Apostle Paul, but He had not yet revealed the entire message to him. It was still only "in part" during the Acts period, but with the close of the Book of Acts, the Lord completed the revelation of the "Mystery" (see Eph. 3:3,4,9 and Col. 1:26,27, etc.). "That which is perfect" was finally revealed in all its fullness to the Apostle Paul and at that moment, those things which were only "in part" passed away from God's program. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:12 "Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." When Paul wrote "now I know in part," he used the common word for "know," the Greek word gnosis. But then, when he wrote "but then I shall know..." he changes the word from gnosis to epignosis, "to fully know." We could paraphrase Paul's statement: "Now, as I'm writing 1 Corinthians in Acts 19, I have gnosisI know, in part, what God's message is for us today in the dispensation of grace, but thenwhen that which is perfect has comeI shall have epignosisthe full knowledge of God's message of grace for us today." All through the Book of Acts Paul had only "gnosis," partial knowledge of the message of grace, but when we turn to the Prison Letters we suddenly find Paul using that word "epignosis"he had now received that "full knowledge" which he didn't have when he wrote to the Corinthians: "For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge (epignosisfull knowledge) of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ" (Col. 2:1-2). "For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge (epignosisfull knowledge) of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light" (Col. 1:9-12). In all the seven letters written after the close of the Book of Acts, Paul uses this word "epignosis"the full knowledge. What he had not yet received in 1 Corinthians 13, he now has. That which is perfect had come and so the sign gifts had passed away. The "sign gifts" were signs for God's "sign people" The close of the Book of Acts was also the close of God's dealings with the nation of Israel for now nearly 2000 years. Acts 28:25-28 stands as God's last words to the nation of Israel for nearly two millennia. The Jews sought after signs (1 Cor. 1:22) so God gave them signsamong the Gentiles!in order to provoke Israel to jealousy (Rom. 11:14). But with the close of Acts, God sets aside Israel for a time, and when God gave up on the "sign people" for a time, the sign gifts passed out of His program. I speak in tongues, what should I do? Many Christians today have had an experience that they think is the scriptural gift of tongues. After studying Paul's letters and the scriptural teaching concerning the cessation of the gift of tongues, they ask, "What should I do now?" There are several possible explanations for the experienceit may be a psychological experience or even a spiritual experience, but clearly, from the Word of God, it is not the Spirit's gift of tongues. What should they do? Simply: Stop! Stop speaking in the tongue because it is not from the Holy Spirit. For many this is a great relief. They've been taught that a person has to speak in tongues to prove that he is really saved, or that he really has the Holy Spirit dwelling within. So they've "learned" to speak in tongues, but when they see from Scripture that this gift is not in operation from the Lord today, they can at last cease their effort to prove their salvation and start to walk by faith and not by sight. For some, Paul's instructions to the prophets at Corinth will be pertinent: "If anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints" (1 Cor. 14:30-33). When we are having an experience that we learn from the Scriptures is not from the Lord, it is time to "keep silent," and remember that our spirits are to be under our own control"the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets." The Lord's warning The Lord warned that experiences can be deceiving: "Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'" (Matt. 7:22-23). Yes, they really had had these experiences. They had prophesied in Jesus' name, they had cast out demons and done miracles in His name. The Lord does not deny that they had done these things. But then He tells them that even while they were doing these things, He had never ever known them. It is important that our faith be based on the Word of God and not on experiences because experiences can deceive us. Endnote 1. All references have been taken from the New King James Version. 50th Birthday Fun Thoughts and Ideas
By Gail Leino When youve reached that 50th birthday you may find yourself wondering where all the time went to. Just yesterday you were twenty-five and living large, now you feel a little tired. Make up for lost time with a big 50th birthday party. The half century mark shouldnt be a time to sit back, but instead to get up and move around. A stand up cocktail party can provide the elegance some prefer for this big event. Its easy to purchase plenty of 50th birthday party napkins for guests to use at the event. You can even find some light up wine and champagne glasses to add a little glow to your event. Hanging dangles from the ceiling will reflect the lights in the room. To really add some spark to your birthday you can celebrate it with lots of golden decorations. Maybe even turn it into a Safari Party or Pirate celebration and your guests will get to go on a hunt for golden treasure. Dont worry about this being too childish, everyone should take the time to act like a kid now and then. Bring in some plastic coins to spread around the tables and make a golden yellow cake. Guests sometimes surprise the soon-to-be fifty year old with their own surprise party. This can be intended to poke light fun at the guest of honors Over the Hill status. A birthday cake shaped like a tombstone or coffin can bring some ironic giggles. Gag gifts such as an old age care basket filled with Adult diapers, Aspercream, and reading glasses with really thick lenses will get lots of laughs from the guests and hopefully the receiver. Black and gray colored decorations can add to the theme. Get black streamers to hang from the ceiling. And a banner with a funny Over the Hill saying to hang above the buffet table. Mrs. Party... How To Avoid Disputes With Your Neighbours Over Backyard Fences
By Percy Troughton There are many who are afraid to approach their neighbors about putting up backyard fences. In a way that is understandable, though there really is a benefit to doing so. Some think that putting these up makes for bad relations between neighbors, but that actually is not true. It tends to make things much better for a variety of reasons. I am glad there are fences between my yard and the ones next door, and I think if the fences were not there we would have more problems than we do. As it stands, we get along perfectly fine. Having backyard fences installed works out better because there are not disputes between neighbors about property line. This is why both neighbors should have input, and why someone should come to determine the property line before the fence is put in. Problems arise when someone just puts one up and the other neighbor thinks the property lines are wrong. If both are in on it, there is no cause for question later, especially with the professional being involved. There can be problems when backyard fences are a shared expense however. This leaves much open when something happens to the fence, or a part of it. Who pays for it? Who repairs it? What color is it going to be? The people putting up the fence should pay for it entirely, as it was their idea. That way it is obvious that if something happens to it they are the ones that pay for it. However, if the neighbor does something to it, they will know they owe the other. It sounds a little complicated, but one buying makes more sense and makes issues easier to sort through if things go bad. The act of putting up backyard fences actually helps relations. Each of the neighbors feel as if they have more privacy, and they feel more free to enjoy themselves in the yard. I wish the fence in my yard went all the way around both sides so that people from the street were not gawking at us, but at least I know my neighbors and I can be outside at the same time and we do not have to stare at each other if we do not want to. It makes things more peaceful and I also know that when my daughters ball goes over the backyard fences they will return it without problem. If she were constantly running to their yard all the time, that might not be the case. Percy Troughton's runs his own garden center as well as running several shopping based websites. His particular speciality is gardening equipment. Check out these great Garden Resources or these Landscape Gardening advice and tips.

The Right Way To Send Your Resume
By Don Goodman Having a great resume is the first critical step in a successful job search. Unfortunately, most people dont know the best ways to get that resume noticed. In todays job market, where you are competing with hundreds of other resumes, knowing the right way to distribute your resume can make all the difference. First of all you need to get organized and stay organized. When you get that call from the 200 resumes you sent out, you need to make sure you are ready to show that you know all about the company thats calling. So keep a log detailing the name of the company, the position advertised and the dates you contacted them along with any notes. (Readers may request a free log by e-mailing success@gotthejob.com). Next post your resume on the job boards. Note that the job boards are not the most effective way to get a job with most of them having an effectiveness rate of less than 3%. Nonetheless, they should be a part of your strategy. Put your resume on the large job boards and be sure to find the job boards that are specific to your profession as many employers are skipping the expensive giants and focusing their search. To post your resume, youll need an electronic (or ASCII) version of your resume. You can do this by opening your resume in MS Word, hitting File-Save As and choosing Text Only. This will create a .txt version of your resume. Close the file, reopen it and edit out any stray characters left over from your bullets and other graphics characters. This file will now cut and paste into web sites and e-mails and automatically format itself. When you post to the job boards, remember to setup search agents that automatically tell you about a new job posting. This will let you be one of the first ones to apply. Next find the advertised positions that meet your criteria. You can do this by surfing the job boards, checking the papers and looking at company web sites. Dont forget to look at trade publications as less people respond to those ads meaning youre up against less competition. As much as possible, try to find the name of the hiring manager and address your correspondence directly to them. Now revise your cover letter to fit the ad. Remember that an employer will look at your cover letter for 3-7 seconds, so keep it brief and easy to read using white space and bullets. Do not try to repeat what is already in your resume. Instead, tell them how you meet the criteria they mentioned in their advertisement. Then proofread the cover letter as any mistakes will eliminate you. Print your resume and cover letter on matching stationery, either a white or buff colored 24 lb. paper. Stay away from the fancy colors. If you have the extra money, a 100% cotton watermarked paper is impressive, but not really necessary. Look at the copies to make sure they are neatly printed. Buy matching 9 x 12 envelopes as they will stand out more and your good-looking resume wont have to be folded. If you can print labels, buy the clear kind as they look almost as if they were typed on the envelope. Next, we will make sure that you are noticed because we will be e-mailing and sending your resume and following up with a phone call. Yes, this is aggressive and if you do it correctly, you will definitely be noticed. Follow the instructions in the ad first, so if they say e-mail the resume then do that first. Otherwise send the paper copies first and send the e-mail 2 days later, mentioning that the e-mail is a follow-up to your mailed resume. Remember to mark in your Job Search Log the date you e-mailed/mailed them. Finally, prepare to call the employer no later than 3 days after your resume has arrived. This is critical as most people dont do this. Most importantly, develop a phone script to use. If you just say, Im calling to see if you got my resume, then youve blown it. Instead show that you know something about the company and state that youd really like to know more about the job. Then ask one or two great questions that demonstrate your knowledge and insights. For example, if you are going for a sales position, ask, I know your company is growing, is this position for a new territory or an existing one? If they say its a new territory, casually mention how you opened a new territory before and delivered 120% of sales targets. As much as possible try to build a rapport with the person youre speaking with, as employers hire people they like. Key tip: watch your energy level and intonation as they are the most important factors that define how you will come across. Be friendly, professional and conversational. End by asking if you may call them again next week to see how the selection process is progressing. Remember that most people dont follow these steps and if you do, your resume will rise to the top of the stack! Kauai Honeymoon Vacations
By Randy Wilson Kauai, which is one of Hawaii's oldest and westernmost islands, is the ideal example of true paradise. Approximately circular in shape, Kauai is 550 square miles in area and 32 miles in diameter. Fringed by swaying palms, Kauai is decorated with streams of flowers with a landscape that is full of great inland mountains, making it the ideal getaway for newlyweds. Apart from that, this island makes a worthwhile and pleasurable destination through the existence of the famous Kauai honeymoon resorts. Resorts in Kauai such as the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resorts and Spa, Hanalei Bay Resort, Radisson Kauai Beach Resort, Sheraton Kauai Resort and the Princeville Resort - Sheraton Luxury Collection, offers you facilities for fun, romance and comfort. One of the famous Kauai honeymoon locations is Poipu Beach, one of the best developed beaches on the island. Apart from that, there are the calm and peaceful Princeville and Lihue towns, which are worth a days tour. The town Lihue holds most of the islands population in Coconut Coast, one of the most popular resort centers, and also Wailua, Hawaiis only navigable river. In fact, one of the most favored activities is the boat trips from Wailua to Fern Grotto. If you have a budget for a helicopter tour, you can observe the islands most beautiful scenery from the air and also soar high above some areas of the island which are not accessible by car. You will find that most resorts offer seven-day Kauai honeymoon packages, which also includes full facilities provided by the resort. Some of these enjoyable and relaxing facilities would be the interconnecting pools and lagoons, the vast variety of restaurants and lounges, extensive water sports centers, golf courses, tennis courts, large gardens and open air courtyards, horseback riding, fitness centers as well as full service health spas. A typical Kauai honeymoon package includes the traditional welcoming gesture to visitors with a flower lei greeting, airport transfer and hotel baggage handling, as well as luxury accommodations that are fit for royalty. For instance, Kiahuna Plantation (Outrigger) Condominium of Poipu Beach offers the fifth night free for honeymooners for stays of 5 or more days. On the other hand, the Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa offers the sixth night free for stays of 6 or more days. In this exotic destination, nothing is too far away to visit as touring the whole island can be easily completed with a two hour car ride. All in all, Kauai honeymoons are about escaping the bustling and hectic city environment and enjoying each others company along the pristine beaches and within the tropical gardens of Kauai. During your stay beach activities such as snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, scuba diving and sunset watching should not be missed. Finally, your Kauai honeymoon would be incomplete without sinking your teeth into the succulent fresh seafood for which Kauai is popular for. Apart from that, a visit to the breathtaking cliffs and valleys of the Na Pali coast, which is a popular filming location, should not be missed. These cliff formations with its panoramic views have been seen in blockbuster movies such as South Pacific, Blue Hawaii, and Jurassic Park. Taking in the breathtaking view of this scenic location is already worth your trip and time to this romantic Hawaiian Garden Island. Copyright Randy Wilson, All Rights Reserved. DNA Paternity Testing
By Steve Wrigley Q. What is DNA Paternity Testing? A. DNA identification is the most precise and definitive method available for determining parentage. Everyone is born with their own genetic blueprint known as DNA. Because DNA is passed down from mother and father to child, DNA identification provides a conclusive way to determine biological relationships. Consequently, DNA typing has become the most accepted method of proving (or discounting) a family relationship. Q. What is the difference between a 'curiosity' test and a Court Admissible DNA Test? A. The two tests are treated identically at the laboratory and during the testing phase of the process. The main differences rests in the method used to collect the DNA sample and the court admissible test is more sensitive. In the instance of a court admissible test, the DNA must be collected by an independent and qualified witness such as a GP or Staff Nurse. Q. Is the DNA test accurate? A. Samples of DNA can be used to establish whether individuals are related. The test will either: 1. prove 100 per cent that the person is not a relation or parent of the child; or 2. show a 99.99 per cent probability that they are a relation or parent of the child. Q. How does DNA testing work? A. DNA paternity testing can be performed on a wide variety of samples including cheek cells, tissue samples, blood cells and semen. Every person's DNA is unique (except for identical twins). DNA is the genetic material in the cells of your body. Every nucleated cell has 46 chromosomes, except the sperm and the egg which contain 23 chromosomes each. At the moment of conception they join together to start creating a person. Therefore each human being receives half of their genetic material (DNA) from the biological mother, and the other half from the biological father. To do the test, DNA is extracted from the buccal (cheek) cells from inside the mouth. Enzymes are used to cut the DNA sample into fragments which are then placed into a gel. An electric current is used to drive the fragments across the gel - the smallest of which move the farthest. The separated DNA fragments are transferred to a nylon membrane which reveals black bands where the probes are bound to the DNA. The visible band pattern of the child is unique - half matches the mother and half matches the father. The process is repeated several times to provide a certainty greater than 99.99% that there is a paternal relationship with the child. Q. What age can a child be tested? A. Testing can be performed on a child of any age after birth. Using mouth swabs as instead of needles for blood samples makes the testing of children safe and painless. Q. Does the mother need to be tested? A. It is possible to perform a DNA Paternity Test without the mother; however the results will be more conclusive if the mother is included. Just Married- Take Some Vacation Marriage Advice
By Kelly Kennedy So youre just married, and you think that after your honeymoon, thats it for luxurious vacations right? As a married couple youve now got your mortgage to think about, car payments, utilities, saving for children if you plan to have them, insurance, credit card debt and then theres everyday expenses like food. With all those expenses how could you ever think about a vacation again as a married couple, well you can! Timeshares. Timeshares are great places to spend your time as a married couple. Some find that they get several weeks on their ownership program each year while others may not be able to use them at all. However that doesnt mean you cant rent them out to others and make a slight profit. Most timeshare owners pay on average $250 for a week. As some marriage advice and financial advice find friends or family who are willing to split the fee and share the space. Or if you just want to stay the week you can pay the fee and enjoy your time there. Before you head to your time share destination check on these things first: Make sure you agree on the price before taking over someones timeshare, and ask the other party about other expenses such as cleaning fees, and maintenance charges. Know whats around you, you may think the time share comes with a full kitchen but find out there isnt so youll want to know what you have access to and surrounding locations. Marriage advice- The more the merrier for the just married Take a vacation with your friends or another married couple. It can be fun, and less expensive because you can split some of the costs. Say you want to go to the mountains to do some skiing. An average price for a weeklong cabin rental with three bedrooms costs around $900. You can easily split that between other friends and save a ton while being located in an ideal spot. If you prefer to be outdoors, then take a camping trip. Your cost for the campsite will be nothing! Before you go make sure to set some ground rules such as still making time for family, not just friends, or alone time with your other half especially if youre just married. If you have kids, perhaps one night, one other couple or the friends you are with can watch them and then you can switch roles. Or you can choose to do your own things during the day and then get together during the night for dinner. Swap Homes. Do you live in an attractive place where tourists always venture to. If so, consider doing a house exchange. Most house exchanges cost $30-$110 per year. You may feel skeptical about turning your house over to a stranger but its completely safe. Most home exchangers are prosperous, mature, and well educated professionals so they are not likely to destroy your home. Or you can choose to do a house swap with a family with children if you have children so you are going from one child friendly home to the next. Before you do a house swap make sure to leave any necessary instructions the swapper may need, and check with your insurance company to make sure the new family is covered. Volunteer your way. If you happen to work at a local campground this would be an ideal situation. Work for the week and get your campsite free. So basically you would put in your time but then have a vacation spot to enjoy. Not all campgrounds will offer this trade off but it could be something to look into if interested. Taking children that are slightly older are better to take along because some work will be required. If you budget is limited its still important to spend time with family and loved ones so here are some alternatives for days trips that can seem like mini vacations. Hit the Beach. The beach is a great place to spend the day, enjoy the water, and beach activities, but after a day worth of sun, everyones worn out and ready to head home so it makes an ideal day trip. Send flowers. Flowers are always a pleasant surprise for those just married or for those that have been together for years. Or take your lunch break to surprise your loved one. Presents.Give unexpected small gifts every now and then. Just the thought of them knowing that you took extra time out of your day to get something will be meaningful. Go for a long walk. Go for a long walk with your loved one or kids and hold hands. It will be meaningful and fun. Carriage Ride. Take a carriage ride through the city or a park for the first time as a married couple. Zoo. Take a trip to your local zoo. Museum. A museum leads more to a relaxing and educational day but still a day away from home. Amusement park. Any amusement park can be enough excitement for one day. Hiking. Go for a hike through the woods, pack a picnic and enjoy the peace as a married couple. Day trips can be just as exciting as taking a vacation after being just married and you can do plenty more day trips then what you could do in one spot. So when planning your next vacation as a married couple keep this marriage advice in mind. For more information relating to marriage financial resources please visit http://www.marriedfinances.com.
